How a WeedTreats box moves from grower to your shelf

The order of things here is short and fairly fixed: we buy what the Western Cape season gives us, the Salt River kitchen packs in small dated runs, and boxes leave within days of sealing. This page sets out each stage, what we need from you, and where a build-your-own request or a monthly rotation changes the sequence.

   We confirm volumes with a handful of Western Cape growers before the season closes. If a hemp harvest comes in lighter than expected, the toasted hearts in that run get rationed across boxes rather than padded out with filler.

2. Two weeks out

   Rooibos is brewed overnight so the caramel brittle holds its flavour. Cacao-date bites and savoury seed clusters are made in the same week, since humidity in a Cape Town summer changes how brittle sets. Nothing is packed until it has cooled and settled.

   Every item goes into a resealable pouch with a hand-written batch date and a plain-language ingredient card. Build-your-own boxes are packed last, after the standard runs, because dietary swaps change the weight and balance of a box.
